PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and reliably remove scale firmly deposited on the inside of heat exchanger heat transfer tubes with the heat exchanger kept in an installed position without disassembly.;SOLUTION: On a shell and tube heat exchanger, a base is positioned opposite to one tube plate of the heat exchanger, rod members are positioned on the base opposite to tube openings of the heat exchanger, metal scrapers are fastened to the tips of the rod members, and a moving means is provided for inserting the metal scrapers into the tube openings. A movement of the metal scrapers to the other tube openings descales the inside of more than one or all the tubes simultaneously.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
