PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable polymethylsiloxane resin produceable by a simple operation without passing a complicated process, having excellent preservation stability and curability, and providing a cured film having excellent flexibility, solvent resistance, adhesion, weather resistance, light resistance and heat resistance; and to provide a method for producing the resin, a curable polymethylsiloxane resin composition and an article having the cured film thereof. PSOLUTION: The curable polymethylsiloxane resin has 10,000-100,000 Mw, 2,500-4,000 Mn, MeSi(OR)SB2/SBOSB1/2/SBunit, MeSi(OR)OSB2/2/SBunit, MeSiOSB3/2/SBunit, (Me)SB2/SBSi(OR)OSB1/2/SBunit and (Me)SB2/SBSiOSB2/2/SBunit (R is H or a 1-8C alkyl group) regulated so that the content ratio by mole of the total (A) of trifunctional siloxane units to the total (B) of bifunctional siloxane units is (65/35)-(85/15), and the ratio by mol of the MeSi(OR)OSB2/2/SBunit to the MeSiOSB3/2/SBunit is (15/85)-(30/70).
