PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling the driving force of an electric vehicle wherein the behavior of a vehicle can be prevented from becoming unstable when slip control operation is carried out, and a method for controlling the driving force of an automobile and an electric vehicle equipped with the apparatus. PSOLUTION: TCS control is carried out to control output driving forces of electric motors 3RL, 3RR so that the slip ratio of left and right driving wheels 2RL, 2RR falls within the range of target slip ratio (equal to or lower than a slip ratio threshold value SBTH/SB). Based on the operating state of the electric motors 3RL, 3RR, the driving force Td transmitted from the left and right driving wheels 2RL, 2RR to the road surface is individually computed. The amount of the TCS control is corrected so that the difference between the driving forces Td of the left and right driving wheels 2RL, 2RR becomes equal to a target driving force difference.
