PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quickly measuring the flowing speed of molten iron-molten slag mixed liquid flowing out from a molten iron tapping hole in a blast furnace.;SOLUTION: With respect to two-dimensional distribution of heat-radiation brightness in the molten iron-molten slag mixed liquid 5 flowing out from the molten iron tapping hole 6 in the blast furnace, several images are picked up at high speed shutter having short exposing time and at the short time interval with an image pick-up device 1, and a pattern-shifting amount among the images, is detected by comparing the obtained two^dimensional distribution patterns of the heat-radiation brightness with among several images, and the flowing speed of the molten iron-molten slag mixed liquid is calculated based on the pattern-shifting amount among the images. The molten material surface of the molten iron tapping flow, is formed as a dappled pattern having the low portion and the high portion of the radiation brightness. The dappled pattern on the molten material surface is not changed to this shape in the case of being the short time, and since the pattern is shifted with the same speed as the flowing speed of the molten material, the flowing speed of the molten material flowing out from the molten iron tapping hole can directly be measured by measuring the shifting speed of the pattern.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
