PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a functional coating film formed glass base material by applying a reactive curing coating liquid on the base material by which a tack-free process after applying the coating liquid on the base material can be shortened, and the optical distortion of the film at the center part of the base material can be suppressed.;SOLUTION: This method comprises: a process for forming the coating film by applying the reactive curing coating liquid while rotating the base material, through which infrared rays for radiation heating are transmitted; and a curing process for making the coating film tack-free. An infrared reflective member, curved into a concave shape viewed from the base material face side applied with the coating liquid during both processes, reflecting the infrared light is arranged to be provided with a clearance from the base material, and the infrared rays are radiated from the base material side applied with the coating liquid during the curing process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
