METHOD FOR PREDICTING SIDE EFFECT OF ANTI-CANCER AGENT WITH CYTOKINE GENE POLYMORPHISM

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting the side effects of an anticancer agent on the basis of the polymorphism information of a gene, by which the side effects of the anticancer agent to cells can be predicted from the polymorphisms, while paying an attention to cytokines participating in responses to irritations, not to conventional various medicine metabolisms. PSOLUTION: This method for predicting the side effects of the anticancer agent comprises especially paying an attention to promoter regions related to the transcription regions of cytokine genes and detecting base polymorphisms existing in the regions. By utilizing the prediction method and a detection method, the side effects of the anticancer agent can preliminarily be estimated, and the estimation can be connected to a cancer treatment for controlling the risks of the side effects.
