PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing-body support mechanism which is a support mechanism for an opening/closing body which can be opened/closed to a fixed body by rotating with a rotary support shaft provided on the fixed body as fulcrum and which will not spoil the assemblability, and an image forming apparatus using the opening/closing-body support mechanism.;SOLUTION: The opening/closing-body support mechanism has a first member 19 for rotatably supported on the opening/closing body 3; a second member rotatably supported on the fixed member 2; a pivotally attaching means 19b for pivotally attaching the respective free ends of the first member and the second member mutually; and a torsion coil spring 40.
