PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to measure a secondary air volume without using an air flow meter for actual measurement of secondary air so as to appropriately control a fuel injection volume. PSOLUTION: A secondary air volume estimation device of an internal combustion engine 1 is provided with a secondary air supply system 60 which takes out the secondary air from an air intake passage of a second cylinder group 30 of cylinder groups 10, 30 individually having air intake systems, so as to supply the secondary air to an exhaust passage upstream of exhaust gas purification catalysts 21, 41. The secondary air volume estimation device includes: a first intake-air volume detection means 51 arranged in an intake air passage of the first cylinder group 10 from which the secondary air is not taken out; a second intake-air volume detection means 52 arranged upstream of a secondary air taking-out position in the air intake passage of the second cylinder group 30 from which the secondary air is taken out by the secondary air supply system 60; and a secondary air volume estimation means 50 to estimate the secondary air volume based on a first intake-air volume and a second intake-air volume detected by the intake-air volume detection means 51, 52.
