METHOD FOR KEEPING HEAT OF MOLTEN PIG IRON IN TORPEDO CAR, AND HEAT-KEEPING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for keeping the heat of a molten pig iron in a torpedo car so as to smoothly discharge the molten pig iron even when a stand-by time for discharging the molten pig iron gets longer than ever, and to provide a heat-keeping apparatus therefor.;SOLUTION: When making the torpedo car wait in the upstream of a converter, which keeps the molten pig iron that has been preliminarily treated, and sending the molten pig iron to a subsequent step at several times or at one time, this heat-keeping method includes covering an opening of the torpedo car with a lid for keeping heat, and simultaneously heating the inside of the torpedo car with the flue gas of the burner installed on the lid for keeping heat. In this case, it is preferable to heat the molten pig iron by calculating a heat quantity necessary for keeping the molten pig iron at the solidifying point or higher, on the basis of the amount and temperature of the remaining molten pig iron in the torpedo car, after a part of the molten pig iron has been sent to the subsequent step at several times or at one time, and adjusting the combustion of the burner so as to give the heat quantity matching the calculated value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
