PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-keeping method of a molten metal carrying container, a remaining thickness measuring method and a heat-keeping device capable of preventing the lowering of a temperature in the molten metal carrying container (for example, molten steel carrying container) after discharging molten metal (for example, molten steel).SOLUTION: A heat-keeping method of a molten metal carrying container uses a heat-keeping device including a plurality of ejection means for ejecting a heat-keeping medium and a support means for supporting the ejection means such that the heat-keeping medium can be ejected downward, and arranges an ejection means of the heat-keeping device on a front side upper part of an opening part of the molten metal carrying container left standing laterally, ejects the heat-keeping medium from the ejection means toward the lower side from the upper side of the opening part on the opening part so as to set the following temperature fall index to be less than 1:(temperature fall index)=(temperature fall amount on refractory surface of molten metal carrying container inner part when the heat keeping medium is ejected)/(temperature fall amount on refractory surface of molten metal carrying container inner part when the heat keeping medium is not ejected).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
