PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision energy absorbing structure of a vehicle body frame member capable of efficiently absorbing energy not only from an input load in the longitudinal direction of a frame member, but also from an input load in the diagonal direction.;SOLUTION: In this collision energy absorbing structure, two folded parts T1, T2 are formed at a longitudinal intermediate part of the outer wall 3a of a front side member 3 formed on a closed section at a required interval D, and a folded portion P obtained by inserting one side 3F in the longitudinal direction of the front side member 3 inside the other side 3R. At the time of inputting a collision load F, one side 3F is made to enter the inside of the other side 3R together with the displacing deformation of the folded portion P, so that the collision energy is efficiently absorbed by large deformation resistance generated by the displacing deformation of the folded portion P.
