PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical work attaching/detaching apparatus which can automatically attach/detach a flexible cylindrical workpiece such as a belt slab of a material for a transmission belt to/from a working machine irrespective of its specifications, a belt slab attaching/detaching/transporting method which can automate the attachment and reception of belt slabs carrying out a plurality of working operations continuously to a plurality of working machines, and a belt slab attaching/detaching/transporting system.;SOLUTION: In the belt slab attaching/detaching/transporting method, the cylindrical workpiece attaching/detaching apparatus 1 which has a sucking/holding means 2 and a workpiece opening/closing device 4, does not bend the belt slab B hung down in a workpiece receiving part 3, expands its inside size, and transfers it is used. A plurality of the working machines are installed along a rail track 6. The cylindrical workpiece attaching/detaching apparatus 1 is made to travel freely on the rail track 6.
