PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately simulate heat generation in a cylinder with little computation load regarding a simulation method and a simulation device for heat generation in the cylinder. PSOLUTION: A heat generation rate dQ/d which is the change rate of a heating value Q in the cylinder to a crank angle is computed based on a Wiebe function model. At this time, a heat generation start point deviation amount SBb/SBshowing deviation between a heat generation start point in the Wiebe function model and ignition timing is obtained, and the heat generation rate dQ/d is computed based on the Wiebe function model so that the heat generation start point deviates by the heat generation start point deviation amount SBb/SBfrom the ignition timing.
