PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating surface evaluation method and a device for objectively evaluating the features of a metallic coating surface, and to provide an evaluation reference sample.;SOLUTION: This metallic coating surface evaluation method for evaluating the metallic coating surface, formed by fixing metal fine particles by a resin on the base material surface of a covering material has an image acquisition procedure for acquiring an image that captures the shape of the individual metal fine particle fixed onto the coating surface; an area calculation means for calculating the apparent area of each metal fine particle fixed on the coating surface by analyzing the image, an analysis procedure for performing statistical analysis, relative to the calculated apparent area of each metal fine particle; and an evaluation procedure for evaluating feeling of brightness showing the granularity brightness of the metallic coating surface, based on the statistical index acquired by the analysis procedure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
