PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material capable of manufacturing a copper fuel electrode by applying and baking a paste containing the electrode material, and to provide a simple manufacturing method for the copper fuel electrode using the electrode material. PSOLUTION: (1) The electrode material consists of composite particles comprising copper oxide particles and oxide ion conductivity particles. (2) In the manufacturing method for the fuel electrode for the solid oxide fuel cell, a layer made of the paste containing the electrode material is formed in the solid electrolyte surface, the layer is baked at 800-1000 C under the air and reduced.
