PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system and a program for generating character styles of a markup language text by which the character styles are specified at each character of text and the styles displayed on a web browser is approximately simultaneously confirmed on a screen. PSOLUTION: The system has: a computer which performs processing and a markup text generation picture having a conversion table between character style specification signs of a markup language and simple signs associated with the signs, a markup language text character style generation part which is a program for generating an XML text, a text input/output part and a style specification part having a plurality of input columns for inputting the simple signs for specifying the character styles of the text by every character of the text, the markup language text character style generation part generates the XML text from the text and the simple signs and displays the text after generation in a form to be displayed on a browser on the text input/output part of the markup text generation picture.
