PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noble metal-deposited catalyst to be used for producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride with high selectivity from an olefin or α,β-unsaturated aldehyde by liquid-phase oxidation and to provide a method for producing α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride with high selectivity.;SOLUTION: The noble metal-containing catalyst, in which a noble metal is deposited on an inorganic oxide at the least, has 2-50 nm average pore diameter, which is obtained by analyzing an isotherm on the adsorption side measured by a nitrogen gas adsorption method by a BJH method. α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride are produced by using the noble metal-containing catalyst.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
