PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaped raw material for forging, which can improve a yielding ratio in a forging process while suppressing the increase of a manufacturing cost. PSOLUTION: The shaped raw material 10 for forging is formed by extrusion, and has a cross sectional shape perpendicular to the extruding direction so as to vary in the extruding direction. The shaped raw material 10 is divided in the extruding direction by being cut into a plurality of pieces, and is used as divided partial materials 11 in the divided state. The divided partial materials 11 are formed so as to have different cross sectional shapes in the extruding direction. In the divided partial materials 11, a pair of first parallel portions 13, 13 arranged at both end portions in the extruding direction, a second parallel portion 15 which is arranged between both first parallel portions and has a thickness different from the thickness of the first parallel portions 13, and tilted portions 17, 17 arranged between the first parallel portions 13, 13 and the second parallel portion 15 are formed respectively.
