PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a practical shape model in a short time by calculating a shape of wire-like structure such as wire harness considering restrictions by tool components in manufacturing.;SOLUTION: By this calculation method, a wire harness 1 is expressed as a finite element model structured from a combination of a plurality of beam elements, and a tool plate development shape model is calculated by applying constraints of tool components 6 and 7 and physical characteristics of the wire harness 1 to the finite element model. A torsion-zero plane P0 is added to the tool plate development shape model. A design section is provided with a shape calculation device which performs shape calculation of the wire harness 1 incorporating constraints of the tool components 6 and 7, and an output means which outputs the tool plate development shape calculated by the shape calculation device by electronic data.
