PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user authentication method simplifying input at the time of login, restraining login by another person using a login ID and a password of the person himself/herself, and coping with such a case that a plurality of candidates are extracted. PSOLUTION: This user authentication method includes the steps of: accepting input of biological information; extracting a user corresponding to the accepted biological information, displaying the user candidates, accepting selection input of a specific user of the displayed user candidates, displaying a user authentication screen in which a part of a password corresponding to the accepted specific user is automatically entered; and accepting input for completing the password, the part of which has been automatically entered.
