PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collectively demagnetize data areas between servo pattern transfer sections with a simple configuration with respect to a medium for the demagnetization mask, a perpendicular medium magnetic transfer/demagnetization method, a vertical recording medium and a magnetic disk device.;SOLUTION: After transferring a servo pattern in direction perpendicular to the medium surface of a vertical recording medium 1 by impressing a magnetic field in a closely contacted state of a vertical recording medium 1 and the mask medium in which the servo information is patterned in advance, in the state where position adjustment for a mask part 4 of a medium 3 for the demagnetization mask and the transfer pattern part are performed, and made closely contacted or adjacent, the magnetization in the vertical direction in the data part in the vertical recording medium 1 is demagnetized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
