PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optimum recording operation capable of recording with high accuracy and high quality even in any recording mode by uniquelly setting an overshoot waveform which is generated at the rise of a laser driving signal waveform supplied to a laser emitting element, in accordance with the recording mode.;SOLUTION: This driving control method of the laser emitting element attains an optimum multiple speed recording for a plurality of kinds of optical disk by supplying the laser driving signal which is produced based on a combination of: the information regarding a recording power input from the outside; the strategy information and the information regarding the overshoot waveform associated with the multiple speeds of the plurality of kinds of optical disk to the laser emitting element LD, and the laser driving signal to be supplied to the laser emitting element LD is produced (step S70) by alternatively connecting with the laser emitting element LD based on the above combination, then the overshoot waveform optimum for this combination is obtained at the rise of the laser driving signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
