PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardly rusting and easily processable steel wire for a fruit/vegetable shelf, and to provide the fruit/vegetable shelf using the steel wire.;SOLUTION: The steel wire for the fruit/vegetable shelf is composed of a high-purity ferritic stainless steel wire containing 0.001-0.03 mass% of C and one or more kinds of 0.05-1.0 mass% of Nb, 0.05-1.0 mass% of Ti and 0.05-1.0 mass% of V, preferably further 0.05-1.0 mass% of Si, 0.05-1.0 mass% of Mn, ≤0.04 mass% of P, ≤0.005 mass% of S, 10.5-18.0 mass% of Cr, ≤0.01 mass% of O and 0.003-0.04 mass% of N.
