PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an excellent heat stability by adding an alkali meal salt of an amino acid or a peptide comprising an amino acid and an alcoholic- hydroxyl-containing compound represented by a specified formula to dibenzylidenesorbitol. ;SOLUTION: 100 pts.wt. compound represented by the formula (wherein R¹ and R² are each a 1-8C alkyl, an alkoxyl or a halogen; and a and b are each 0-3), e.g. 1,3,2-4-dibenzylidenesorbitol, is dispersed in methanol, and 1-100 pts.wt. at least one alcoholic-hydroxyl-containing compound selected among alcohols, phenols, partial esters of polyhydric alcohols, hydrogenated castor oil, alkylene oxide adducts thereof, hydroxyalkylamines and hydroxyalkylamides is added to the dispersion. After being agitated at room temperature, the resulting mixture is mixed with an aqueous solution containing 0.01-50 pts.wt. alkali metal salt of an amino acid (e.g. alanine) or a peptide under heating to obtain a stabilized dibenzylidenesorbitol composition. This composition is mixed with a transparent olefin resin to obtain a polyolefin resin composition excellent in transparency.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
