PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: originally, a two-stringed musical instrument, an Erhu, has a range as narrow as about two octaves, therefore, performance is carried out by changing a key to the key of F, G, A, or B matched with a program to be performed, or by shifting a tone of the key of F, G, A, or B by 3, 5, or 7 degrees, respectively, to cover the narrowness of the range, and in addition, the Erhu has no finger board nor fret, and only two strings are separated from the pole, and aged beginners find the instrument too difficult to pick correct scale finger positions due to its too free fingering. PSOLUTION: Therefore, in order to widen the narrow range of the Erhu, originally about two octaves, to three octaves, the position of Cheng Jin is shifted in the direction of the peg-box to extend the amplitude of the strings and string tension is raised accompanying the increase in the interval between a bridge and the Cheng Jin, and as a result, it becomes possible to widen the range up to three octaves, and also becomes possible to play the instrument in a low range without performing troublesome modulation and transposition, and further, as a result of mounting a finger board on the pole as an attachable performance-aid tool and sticking a sticker to an easy-to-see position on the pole as a performance-aid tool, the aged beginners having left music for a long time have become capable of playing the instrument on a correct scale within a short time.
