PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a testing method for demonstrating the efficacy of a topically applied active ingredient. PSOLUTION: The testing method for demonstrating the efficacy of a topically applied active ingredient comprises: the step of topically applying an active ingredient-containing composition to a certain area on the skin; the step of applying an absorbing material to the above area to extract at least part of the active ingredient, thereby incorporating the absorbing material with the above part in a releasable way; the step of removing the absorbing material from the skin; the step of extracting the active ingredient from the absorbing material; the step of combining the extracted active ingredient with a cell growing medium; the step of culturing the medium bearing cultured cells taking a time for producing a biological indicator; and the step of showing the efficacy of the active ingredient by assaying the biological indicator.
