PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composition which accurately extracts and removes pileous glands and sweat gland pores by extracting pileous gland characteristics, analyzing the appearance patterns of the pileous glands and determining the pileous glands by means of a preliminarily determined conditional expression. PSOLUTION: A fingerprint image identification system, which extracts feature points from a fingerprint image, is provided with; a fingerprint image inputting part (11) which digitizes a fingerprint image to input; a ridge line direction extracting part (12) which extracts data on the directions of ridge lines from the fingerprint image; a pileous gland extracting-and-removing part (13) which extracts and removes pileous glands by using the data on the directions of the ridge lines; a sweat gland pore extracting-and-removing part (14) which extracts and removes sweat gland pores by using the data on the directions of the ridge lines; a ridge line extracting-and-emphasizing part (15) which extracts the ridge lines and valley lines (ridge line grooves) from the fingerprint image by using the data on the directions of the ridge lines and emphasizes the density of the ridge lines and valley lines; a feature point extracting part (16) which extracts feature point data from the fingerprint image; and a feature point outputting part (17) which outputs the feature point data.
