PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject crystallized pearls easy to handle with high fluidity, containing no microparticles tending to form dust, by cooling the droplets of a product to effect their vitrification and hardening to form pearls which, in turn, are brought into contact with crystallization seeds at a specific temperature followed by gradual temperature rise to crystallize the pearls. ;SOLUTION: The crystallized pearls are obtained by the following process which comprises melting, if necessary, a product such as glyceryl guaiacolate, breaking up the molten mass into droplets by e.g. passing it through a nozzle, cooling the droplets to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the product by e.g. allowing them to fall into a column where a cooling gas is in countercurrent so that these droplets harden by vitrification to afford vitrified pearls, maintaining the pearls thus vitrified at a temperature below the glass transition temperature, bringing them into contact with crystallization seeds (e.g. a small amount of crystalline powder of the same kind as the product), and crystallizing the pearls by gradually raising the temperature above the glass transition temperature, and then recovering the resulting crystallized pearls.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
