PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel gene expressed specifically and temporarily in dopamine-producing neuron precursor cells immediately after termination of division. PSOLUTION: Disclosed is a novel gene 65B13 expressed specifically and temporarily in dopamine-producing neuron precursor cells immediately after termination of division. Also disclosed is a method that the cellular expression of 65B13 can be used as an index to efficiently isolate and select dopamine-producing neuron precursor cells that are suitable in terms of their safety, survival rate, and network formation ability, for transplant therapy of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease.
