PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technology for measuring the concentration of nitrate nitrogen and sum of the concentrations of nitrate nitrogen and nitrite-nitrogen in a water sample.;SOLUTION: The regent for measuring the concentration of nitrate nitrogen or sum of the concentrations of nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen consists of sulfuric acid solution, chloride ion water solution and m-methoxy phenol aqueous solution. The concentration of the nitrate nitrogen or the sum of the concentrations of nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen can be measured, by measuring the absorbance at about 506 nm, after adding the regent to the water sample (measuring object sample). Total nitrogen can also be measured, by further including a process for acid decomposition, in advance, by causing oxidation of the measuring object sample for producing nitrate ions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
