SURFACE-COATED CEMENTED CARBIDE CUTTING TOOL HAVING HARD COATING LAYER EXERTING EXCELLENT ABRASION RESISTANCE IN HIGH-SPEED CUTTING OF SOFT HARD-TO-CUT-MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated cutting tool having a hard coating layer exerting excellent abrasion resistance in high-speed cutting of a soft hard-to-cut-material.;SOLUTION: The coated cutting tool has the hard coating layer on the surface of a cemented carbide base body. The hard coating layer is composed of (a) a surface layer of a Cr boride layer and (b) an abrasion-resistant hard layer of a composite nitride layer of Ti and Al satisfying a composition formula: (Ti_1-XAl_X)N (where X is 0.40-0.75 by atomic ratio). The surface roughness at a rake face part including at least a cutting blade ridgeline part of the surface layer and that of at a flank part are respectively set to Ra: ≤0.2 μm by polishing the rake face part and the flank part under the coexistence of pulverized Cr nitride fine-particles generated by wet blasting to an abrasive material layer and aluminum oxide fine-particles as a jet abrasive material while jetting a polishing liquid, in which the aluminum oxide fine-particles are blended as the jet abrasive material, by the wet blasting in a state that the abrasive material layer constituted of a Cr nitride layer is formed on the entire surface layer by vapor-deposition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
