PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film catalyst layer bonded element and a film electrode bonded element for readily and surly realizing a polymer electrolyte fuel cell with superior durability, which can suppress the decomposition failure of the polymer electrolyte film over a long time, even if actuation and stop of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell are repeated, and lowering of an initial characteristics are prevented. PSOLUTION: The film catalyst layer bonded element has an anode catalyst layer, a cathode catalyst layer, and a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte film, disposed in between the anode catalyst layer and the cathode catalyst layer. A portion is formed, where the mass of an electrode catalyst per the unit area of the catalyst layer is decreased from the inside to the outside, in at least one circumferential portion of the anode catalyst layer or the cathode catalyst layer.
