PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a representing device and method for a three-dimensional object based on a depth image. PSOLUTION: This representing device includes: a form information generation part 2330 for dividing an octree including an object into a predetermined number of lower cubes to generate form information for the object; a reference image determination part 2320 for determining a reference image for the respective cubes; an index generation part 2340 for generating index information of the reference image; a node generation part 2350 for generating an octree node composed of the index information and the reference image; and an encoding part 2360 for outputting a bit stream by encoding the octree node. The form information generation part 2330 repeatedly executes a division process into the lower cubes until the sizes of the divided lower cubes are set smaller than a predetermined reference size.
