PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gold-coated silver powder for silver clay which has excellent corrosion resistance and low temperature sinterability, and to provide silver clay containing the gold-coated silver powder for silver clay.;SOLUTION: The gold-coated silver powder is composed of a powdery mixture obtained by blending 15 to 50 mass% Au-coated Ag fine powder in which Ag fine powder having a mean particle diameter of 0.5 to 5 μm is coated with an Au film with a film thickness of 0.01 to 0.1 μm, and the balance Au-coated Ag powder in which Ag powder having a mean particle diameter of 5 to 50 μm is coated with an Au film with a film thickness of 0.1 to 1 μm.
