PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a vinyl polymer being a functional-group-terminated vinyl polymer, wherein the polymerization solvent used and the functional-group-introducing agent used are recovered and recycled.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the functional-group-containing vinyl polymer comprises subjecting a vinyl monomer to atom transfer radical polymerization in the presence of a polymerization initiator and a polymerization catalyst in a polymerization solvent to produce a vinyl polymer, vacuum-distilling off the polymerization solvent while keeping the state of atom transfer radical polymerization, adding a functional-group-introducing agent to the system to introduce functional groups into the polymer, and optionally vacuum-distilling off the functional-group-introducing agent or a mixture thereof with the solvent used for introducing the functional groups.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
