CULTURE MEDIUM FOR ARTIFICIAL CULTIVATION OF LYOPHYLLUM SHIMEJI

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the artificial cultivation of Lyophyllum Shimeji, enabling its commercial production through enabling it to be cultivated in higher yield and in a shorter period than conventional methods. PSOLUTION: A culture medium for the artificial cultivation of Lyophyllum Shimeji characterized by containing coconut's solid fiber lumps and the method for the artificial cultivation of Lyophyllum Shimeji using the culture medium are provided, respectively. Specifically, the method comprises the following: a Pleurotus ostreatus-culturing bottle (850 mL) made of polypropylene is packed under pressure with a mixture which is prepared by mixing rolled barley and coconut's solid fiber lumps together in the volume ratio of 2:3 on a dry basis and adding water to the mixture so that the final water content of the resulting culture medium come to 60 wt.% followed by making a thorough agitation. The resultant packed mixture is bored with a hole about 3 cm in diameter at the center followed by capping the hole, and the mixture is subjected to high-pressure steam sterilization at 110°C for 60 min and then left to cool. The cooled mixture is then inoculated with agar-medium spawn that is separately obtained by culturing Lyophyllum decastes in a PDA (potato dextrose) medium at 25°C for 30 days.
