PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting edge replacement type spherical cutter and an insert for use in it, allowing a cutting edge to be set in a predetermined position only by the operation of fitting the insert for use in the cutting edge replacement type spherical cutter.;SOLUTION: The cutting edge replacement type spherical cutter comprises the insert 5 having a circular-arc cutting edge part 4 is removably mounted on an insert mounting seat 3 formed on the end face 2 directed in the axial direction of a cutter body 1 rotated round the central axis Q of rotation, in which the insert mounting seat 3 is composed of a bearing surface 6 in the direction of an axis Q and a bearing surface 7 of the radial outer peripheral part, the bearing surface 7 has a circular-arc part projected outward centering on one point P on the axis, and the insert 5 is abutted on the bearing surface 7 by a constraint surface 8 having a circular-arc part having the substantially same radius as the radius of the circular-arc part of the bearing surface 7 so as to form concave portions in the abutted part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
