PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting edge position measuring method of an insert removable type spherical cutter, measuring the cutting edge position with good accuracy.;SOLUTION: In this cutting edge position measuring method for the insert removable type spherical cutter using a cutting edge position measuring tool 50, a recessed groove 12 formed on a tool body 11 is provided with a cylindrical surface part around the axis O and an abut surface 15 orthogonal to the axis O, and the cutting position measuring tool 50 includes a clamping member provided with a V-groove extending along the reference line S and a reference plane 56 orthogonal to the reference line S; and a measuring device 80 for measuring the radial distance from the reference line S of a measurement point and the distance in the direction of the reference line S from the reference plane 56. With the cylindrical surface part abutted on the V-groove, with the axis O fixed on the reference line S, and with the abut surface 15 abutted on the reference plane 56, the measuring device 80 is used to measure the radial distance from the reference line S at two or more measurement points on a cutting edge 43 and the distance in the direction of the reference line S from the reference plane 56.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
