SEGREGATION/STORAGE METHOD OF CARBON DIOXIDE IN OCEAN

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for segregating/storing carbon dioxide, one of continuously increasing gases suspected to cause global warming, by which gaseous/liquefied carbon dioxide is transported and disposed at a low cost, carbon dioxide is extremely slowly released from the ocean for a long time or never diffused again, and the ecology system/environments are scarcely affected. PSOLUTION: A material is obtained by using, as a starting raw material, calcium carbonate recovered from paper manufacturing sludge waste (paper sludge) generated in paper manufacturing process and paper coating process or an inorganic matter containing calcium carbonate and solidifying the starting raw material. A material is obtained by forming paper sludge containing calcium carbonate as a starting raw material in a prescribed form and solidifying the formed sludge. These materials are discarded to the ocean to form artificial calcium carbonate reefs in the ocean for the method for segregating/storing carbon dioxide. Accordingly, it is made possible to extremely slowly release carbon dioxide from the ocean for a long duration or never diffuse carbon dioxide again and to moderately increase pH of seawater.
