PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for a flat panel display capable of suppressing sintering temperature dependency of specific resistance low and making a specific resistance of a sintered body within the range of 1.0×10⁹-1.0×10¹⁰Ωcm; to provide a manufacturing method for the spacer for the flat panel display; and to provide the flat panel display using this.;SOLUTION: The spacer for the flat panel display of this invention is provided with the sintered body which comprises a composite oxide containing Mg and Cr atoms and MgO and Cr₂O₃.
