Inoculation filter and cast iron inoculation method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inoculant filter providing a molten metal inoculating effect and a dross catching effect, and a method for inoculating molten cast iron. ;SOLUTION: The inoculant filter 2 is composed of a ceramic-made filter constructor providing holes having three-dimensional network structure and constituted of a front filter part 21 having the inoculant layer coated three- dimensionally at the side near a molten metal pouring hole in a mold and a rear filter part 22 having no inoculant or a little quantity of inoculant at the side apart from the molten metal pouring hole in the mold. The molten metal of gray cast iron or spheroidal graphite cast iron is supplied into a runner under condition of setting the inoculant filter 2 in the runner in the mold 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
