PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment of femtosecond mode-locking laser in a wavelength band of 1.0 μm at low price, the equipment being simple in structure, easy in adjustment, reduced in size, and stable in performance; and to provide scanning pulsed laser as a light source that hardly damage an object, to substitute for a super continuum light source.;SOLUTION: A mode-locking short pulsed light fiber laser connects between a light amplifier and a saturable absorber by an optical fiber in a ring shape. A light amplifier using a gain medium having a gain in a wavelength band of 1.0 μm, and a carbon nanotube having a saturable absorbing characteristic in the wavelength band of 1.0 μm, are made as a saturable absorber, thereby achieving a mode-locking laser of generating a femtosecond mode-locking pulse in the wavelength band of 1.0 μm, and scanning pulsed laser at low price with light of the mode-locking laser as seed light.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
