PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for discharging droplets which increases productivity by uniforming a distance between a discharging nozzle hole discharging the droplets and a discharging target position so as to enhance the evenness of a pattern shape and the accuracy of the forming position of a pattern formed by the discharged droplets, and a flat panel lighting device and electro-optical device using the method for discharging the droplets.;SOLUTION: The apparatus for discharging the droplets includes a position sensor capable of detecting the position in height of an emitting plane 12b of a light guiding plate and a tilting mechanism 31 able to tilt the emission plane 12b so as to let the tilting angle θ2 of the emitting plane 12b be the oblique angle θ1 of the emitting plane 12b by the tilting of the tilting mechanism 31 and the emitting plane 12b change its position from an initial position to the horizontal position before discharging the droplets to the emitting plane 12b. Thus an actual distance H corresponding to the each discharging target position arranged in the discharging direction of a nozzle N is changed to an objective distance Ha by disposing the emission plane 12b to be perpendicular to the discharging direction of the droplets (Z-arrow-noted direction).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
