PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asymmetric ligand capable of highly selectively carrying out asymmetric addition reaction, asymmetric conjugated addition reaction, asymmetric hydroboration reaction, etc. and further readily and inexpensively being prepared, and an asymmetric transition metal complex containing the asymmetric ligand. PSOLUTION: The present invention provides a compound represented by general formula (I) [wherein ring A is void or a benzene ring optionally having substituent(s); RSP1/SPand RSP2/SPare each independently a phenyl group optionally having substituent(s), a cyclohexyl group and the like; RSP3/SPand RSP4/SPare each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group and the like; X is a residue represented by -ORSP5/SPor -NHRSP6/SP(wherein RSP5/SPand RSP6/SPare a lower alkyl group optionally having substituent(s), an aralkyl group optionally having substituent(s) and the like)], and an asymmetric transition metal complex containing the compound as a ligand and provides a method for producing an optically active compound by using the complex as an asymmetric catalyst.
