PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character recognition device improved in recognition rate.;SOLUTION: This device comprises an error condition storage part for storing an error condition for use in determining whether character recognition results are error; a processing condition storage part for storing a processing condition for use in processing handwriting information; a first character recognition part for recognizing a character based on the handwriting information; an error determination part for determining, based on the error condition stored in the error condition storage part, whether recognition results by the first character recognition part are error; a processing part for processing, when error is determined by the error determination part, the handwriting information based on the processing condition stored in the processing condition storage part; and a second character recognition part for recognizing the character, based on the handwriting information processed by the processing part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
