The present invention relates to a siRNA molecule for suppressing the expression of a prion gene. The siRNA molecule according to the present invention is a double-stranded RNA molecule capable of suppressing the expression of a prion gene in cells by RNAi, and an antisense strand constituting the double-stranded RNA molecule is represented by SEQ ID NO: 1. It comprises a target sequence consisting of residues 66-85 or 513-532 in the mouse prion gene mRNA sequence, or a sequence that specifically hybridizes to the corresponding target sequence in other organisms. It is a double-stranded RNA molecule.
