PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter for a vehicular occupant protective system for preventing erroneous starting caused by runaway of a microcomputer and electric noise even if a switch for starting a squib is electronized.;SOLUTION: The microcomputer 70 is connected to first to third driving circuits 100 to 120 for turning on and off first to third switching elements 20 to 40 by the output ports 73 to 75. A timer circuit 80 is connected to the first switching element 20 via a prohibiting circuit 90 as hardware independent of the microcomputer 70.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
