PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod shape or a belt shape tungsten oxide nano-structure having a wide range of possibilities for application and having a large area. PSOLUTION: The tungsten oxide nano-structure is a tungsten oxide single crystal with a nano meter size whose length is 2 m or less, whose polygonal crosssectional face width is in a range of 20-100 nm for the rod shape and whose crosssectional face width is in a range of 200-500 nm and the thickness is in a range of 30-80 nm for the belt shape.
