PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SiC-MoSi2 composite material heater having a positive resistance temperature coefficient, particularly, a positive resistance temperature coefficient (a positive characteristic) in a temperature range of 600°C to 1600°C. ;SOLUTION: An SiC-Mo Si2 composite material heater having a positive resistance temperature coefficient is composed of a composite tissue which uses a porous SiC sintered body obtained by baking raw material powder blended in the particle size at a rate of SiC particulates 30wt.% or more having a particle diameter less than 10μm and SiC coarse particles 70wt.% or less having a particle diameter of 10μm to 43μm as a base material and in which MoSi2 is solubly soaked in a pore of the base material. In addition, a material by blended in the particle size at a rate of SiC particulates 50wt.% or more having a particle diameter less than 10μm and SiC coarse particles 50wt.% or less having a particle diameter of 43μm to 1180μm or a material by blended in the particle size at a rate of SiC particulates 60wt.% or more having a particle diameter less than 10μm and SiC coarse particles 40wt.% or less having a particle diameter not less than 1180μm or a material composed of only SiC particulates having a particle diameter less than 10μm, is used as the raw material powder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
