PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To afford welt-stitched part with such a pattern accent that loops of the final course of a knit fabric appear at specified intervals on the obverse side of welt stitch loops. ;SOLUTION: This knit fabric is obtained by the following procedure: a welt stitch loop succeeding to the loop of the final course of the knit fabric is made and overlapped on the adjoining loop, and a needle hooking these overlapped loops is fed with a knitting yarn to make the succeeding stitch loop; the knitting operation described above is thus made repeatedly starting from one end of the final course to the other end as the endpoint, thereby the loop of the final course is ensured not to come loose; wherein on the obverse side of the knit fabric, the welt stitch loops are put through sideways the loop of the final course at every other wale while on the reverse side, the welt stitch loops are put through sideways the loop of the final course at every other wale, and these two kinds of welt stitch loops are disposed alternately on the obverse side and reverse side of the knit fabric.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
